Almanac - Lavender Honey de Brettaville

September 10, 2017

Almanac Lavender Honey de Brettaville - Sour ale with lavender and honey - 6.5%

First had this at Carwyn's Almanac takeover earlier in the year and was blown away. I mean, all the Almanac beers we tried really hit the mark (hello Apricot de Brettaville), but the addition of lavender really made this something else. Lucky enough to snag a bottle from Slow Beer as a reminder. This guy is pungent lavender on the nose, bit of funk with more herbal, lavender flavours coming through. Works amazingly with the tartness of the base beer. This is something special, and a perfect partner for spring (if it ever actually visits Melbourne).
