Moon Dog Black Lung VI - Whisky barrel aged smokey stout - 9%

Some irresponsible person said these were all gone, causing a mild panic attack at the thought of not getting to lay lips on this year's version. But they were wrong and here it is, shining like a smokey beacon. Smoke really complements a stout like this, balancing the rich malt and giving it great complexity. Always love Moon Dog beer...

Big citrus on the nose and a lovely smooth malt to hold it together. These guys can do no wrong. We shared one of these beasts at Slow Beer in Richmond, sitting at the window watching weird Bridge Road chara...

8 Wired Hippy Berliner - Sour hoppy ale - 4.5%

This is all sorts of fresh. Really light body with a whisper of dry malt underneath and a juicy crispness. Low bitterness but a lovely sour hit that really refreshes. Bit out of season (would be bloody grand in summer) but the sun poked out for a reasonably mild winter day so it gets the nod.
